EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY |
|
Like the expression, “Many Paths Lead to Rome,” there are many ways to express the creative spirit. The most appropriate way to proceed will depend on the intended purpose of a photograph and the vision of the photographer that drives the creative process. Such is the realm of the experimental photographer. In general terms, experimental photography produces a photograph that exists outside the confines of the commissioned session. It usually describes non-commissioned work shot either to add to a photographers portfolio, to develop a distinct direction that one might hope to exhibit someday, or simply done for the creative impulse of expression. Experimental photography is the bridge that links inspiration, technique and form. And it is here that we often find the greatest visions: the creative well-spring of the photographer. Often haunting, sometimes strange, and still other times transcendental or mystical; experimental photographs become the legacy of any given photographer. George R. Parulski, Jr.’s experimental work has been featured in magazines such as, Professional Photographer, Rangefinder, National Geographic, Omni, Psychology Today, and Photo District News. He has also been exhibited in galleries in Chicago and the New York City. Please contact us with any questions. © East Way Photography
